Students learn to appreciate prescribed works of literature as they analyse and form opinions about these works. Students will become equipped to discern the nuances in the language, setting and content so as to understand and formulate their own views about the themes, characters, and differing perspectives. They will also learn to organise their thoughts and substantiate their arguments, opinions and/or ideas so as to produce well-written essays.
